I Couldn't Get Out of My Own Way
Good Morning {{first_name}},
Yesterday I got into a funk.
The kind where you're tired and unfocused. You know there's a lot you should be doing, but you can't get yourself to do any of it. You're just going through the motions — present in body, somewhere else in your head.
I tried to break it by completing a small task around the house. Something simple. Just to build a little momentum.
It didn't work.
So I just sat with it for a while. And eventually I got curious about it, which if you know me, is always where things start to shift.
I put away the distractions. Closed my eyes. Took a breath. Just reset.
Then I started asking myself questions. The first ones sounded like a victim: "Why can't I focus today? Why don't I have the energy?" So I changed them.
"What can I do to put myself in the right energy? Maybe I'm operating on the wrong frequency. How do I realign?"
So I reached out to someone. Just a conversation. Nothing structured, just connection.
And it worked.
By the time I got back to my day I had momentum again. I was moving. I was myself again.
It wasn't until much later that evening that I realized what had actually happened. I had reconnected to my values.
Love and curiosity.
Once I grounded myself in those two things everything else started to flow. The fog lifted. The energy came back. Not because my circumstances changed, but because I stopped fighting who I am and started operating from it.
Here's what I've learned. When you're off, when nothing is clicking and you don't know why, the answer is almost never about doing more. It's about getting back to what you're actually built on.
Your values are not just a nice idea. They're a compass. And when you're disconnected from them, you feel it — in your energy, your focus, your relationships, and the way you move through your day.
That's exactly what we're going to work on together on July 23rd.
Forging Your Foundations of Success is a free one-hour online session where we're going to identify the values that are actually driving your decisions, design what your ideal life looks and feels like, and set goals and habits that align with who you actually are — not who you think you're supposed to be.
Expect practical application. You'll walk away with something real to work on.
You can check out the webinar here: Forging Your Foundations of Success.
Still in it with you,
Matt
