When Was the Last Time You Tried Something New?

In the last email we talked about our relationship with food. So, when was the last time you were adventorous with your food? Have you really paid attention to what food brings your body joy and what causes it to be sluggish?

In the latest episode of Choose to Live, Love & Grow, Kate Galli and I talk about what it is like being on a plant-based diet. When you want to eat a certain way, it can be difficult to maintain that in social settings or dining out.  People want you to eat or drink like them and may not be as accepting of your decisions.

But, just like most changes in our life, there is a way to approach the situtation with love and empathy where you can stay true to who you are and what you believe and still have a good time with friends and family.

One amazing piece of information Kate gave us is how to handle overwhelm:

Only focus on what you can control
Value the small wins
Eliminate unnecessary inputs
Respect structure is freedom
Willingness to upgrade freedom structure
Have awareness to catch a sip
Escape to nature daily
Lock and load the big rocks first
Mindfulness

How Is Your Relationship With Food?
When was the last time you were asked this question? It's not a question we hear often or even ask ourselves often, but it begs the question: why not? When you look at food, do you look at it as sustanance so you can continue your tasks at hand? Maybe you look at it in a sense of indulgence, or a reward after a long day. How should we look at it if we truly want to be the best version of oursel...
Have You Reflected On Your Goals Lately?
We're halfway through the year now and I've got a question for you: Have you reflected on your goals lately? This is one significant factor when it comes to people succeeding at their New Year's Resolutions or goals set after the New Year.  We set it, then forget about it.   Don't be that person. Look back at the goals you've set and ask yourself if you're still alligned with them.  Do they sti...
New Year, Better Me
One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to the new year is the phrase that everyone uses as a marketing ploy "New Year, New Me."  This phrase grinds my gears so much because it adds to the pressure of a New Year's resolution.  When people use this phrase, their mindset is that they will be a brand new person in the new year as if one day they woke up from a slumber. The issue is: it takes ye...
